They say consistency is the key to mastery. For Surya Ensemble, 2026 is the year we fully dedicate ourselves to mastering the art of the immersive experience.
We are thrilled to announce that we are planting our roots deep into the soil of Sandy Springs with a six-show residency at the Abernathy Arts Center.
For those seeking things to do in Atlanta that go beyond the typical dinner-and-a-movie, this season is designed for you. We are bringing our signature production, “Elements,” to the stage six times this year, refining and elevating the experience with every single performance.
If you have been waiting for the right moment to experience the fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions, 2026 is your invitation.
The “Elements” Experience: What to Expect
“Elements” is not just a concert; it is a musical storytelling experience. Inspired by the fundamental forces of nature: Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire. The show takes the audience on a journey that is both grounding and ethereal.
Through the unique combination of the Shehnai (Indian Oboe), Daff (Persian Frame Drum), Viola, and Harp, we create a soundscape that transcends borders. This year, the experience is richer than ever with the recent addition of Kimberly Moran on Harp, adding a shimmering, dreamlike texture that perfectly complements the rhythmic heartbeat of our percussion.
Each segment of the show is introduced by a pre-recorded narration that sets the emotional tone, followed by a synchronized performance where lights and sound move as one. Between acts, our musicians speak directly to you, sharing the history of their instruments and personal stories that make the evening feel intimate and connected.
1. The Season Opener: February 28
Please Note: This show was originally scheduled for January 31st and has been moved to February 28th.
We are kicking off the year with a powerful opening night. This is the perfect post-Valentine’s date night or a sophisticated evening out with friends. We will be setting the tone for the year, introducing new nuances to the “Earth” and “Water” segments of our repertoire.
2. The Special Collaboration: March 6
Featuring Jessica “It’s All Good”
Just one week after our opener, we return for a very special edition of “Elements.” We are collaborating with the charismatic host and comedian, Jessica “It’s All Good.” While the music remains our signature elevated world fusion, Jessica will be hosting the evening, bringing a layer of warmth, humor, and energy that makes this specific show unique in our lineup. Tickets for this collaboration are moving fast.
3. Spring Session: May 8
As Atlanta blooms, so does our sound. The May show often carries a lighter, more “Wind” focused energy. It is the perfect way to welcome the warmer months. An evening of art and culture that feels fresh and uplifting.
4. Midsummer Night: July 31
Escape the Atlanta heat and step into the cool, immersive world of the Abernathy Arts Center. Our midsummer performance is often one of our most intense, channeling the “Fire” element with high-energy percussion and intricate dance sequences by Maria Martynova.
5. Autumn Equinox: September 25
As we transition into fall, our music takes on a reflective, soulful quality. This is the ideal time to experience the haunting beauty of the Shehnai and Viola as we explore the deeper, more emotive tracks in our collection.
6. The Grand Finale: November 20
We close out our 2026 residency just before the holiday rush. This final show is a celebration of the entire year. A culmination of the chemistry and connection we have built with our audience over the previous five performances.
